A message from our Chairman

Workforce Development Board

The Workforce Development Board serves as an advisory board to the County of Imperial Board of Supervisors.  WDB members are appointed to serve by their respective Board of Supervisor. The Board is comprised of community leaders representing private industry, nonprofits, and public agencies.  The Workforce Investment Board is mandated by federal legislation to oversee public investments in employment and training programs. This responsibility is accomplished through the activities of the Imperial County Workforce Development Offices.

The Board meets every 4th Wednesday of the month at 12:00 noon at the El Centro One Stop Center.

Join the Board
The Board is currently seeking private sector business members in agriculture or professional services such as accounting and insurance.  If you have a pulse on the employment needs of these industry sectors in the Imperial Valley and the desire to get involved with your community, then becoming a member of the Imperial County Workforce Development Board might be right for you.

Benefits of being a board member include:

  • The opportunity to share insight and shape training programs and workforce activities that address the needs of local job seekers and businesses
  • The opportunity to represent your industry's workforce needs
  • The opportunity to network with business and community leaders
  • The opportunity to have a say in how your tax dollars are being spent

If you are a business owner or manager and would like to be considered for appointment to the Workforce Development Board, please contact Imperial County Workforce Develoment Office Director, Francisco Marquez, at (760) 337-5007.
