The Youth Program serves Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) eligible youth between the ages of 14-24 through year-round and summer programs. The Vision for Youth outlined in WIOA is for “all youth to acquire the necessary skills and work experience to successfully transition into adulthood, careers, and further education and training.” The Imperial County Youth Program offers youth valuable opportunities such as work readiness workshops, work experience, leadership training, educational goal-setting, and counseling. Program coordinators work closely with participants to address their specific needs, interests and any barriers. Youth are provided with services and support that help them in meeting their goals.
The Workforce Development Office has contracted with Imperial Valley Regional Occupational Program (IVROP) to administer the youth program.
