Youth Program
The Youth Program serves WIA eligible youth between the ages of 16-21 through year-round and summer programs. The Vision for Youth outlined in the Workforce Investment Act is for “all youth to acquire the necessary skills and work experience to successfully transition into adulthood, careers, and further education and training.” The Imperial County Youth Program offers youth valuable opportunities such as work readiness workshops, work experience, leadership training, educational goal-setting, and counseling. Program coordinators work closely with participants to address their specific needs, interests and any barriers. Youth are provided with services and support that help them in meeting their goals.
The Workforce Development Office has contracted with two proven service providers to administer the youth program.
