Workforce and Economic Development Office

Located within the El Centro Administration Office on 4th Street, the Workforce and Economic Development Office works in tandem with the Workforce Development Board to recruit training and service providers for America's Job Centers in the Imperial Valley.

The Workforce and Economic Development office also works with the Community and Economic Development Office to serve the needs of the local population. The division of Community and Economic Development’s mission is to work in partnership with local, state, and federal agencies to develop greater economic opportunities and improve the quality of life for all Imperial County residents.  The Department also assists with the improvement of neighborhoods and supports economic growth by securing the financing for community needs such as housing programs, water, and sewer treatment plans improvements, public services, and other projects and programs.  The goals of this department are primarily achieved by obtaining grants through various funding sources.
